The storm expected to ride up along the coast is expected to come close enough to dump six inches or more of snow on Vermont between late Monday night and Tuesday night. Northern areas might get a bit less, which is why that zone is not under the winter storm watch.
A little snow will come down in Vermont overnight, especially between midnight and dawn, but that won't amount to a big deal.
Radars are already lighting up with what appears to be light snow over Vermont early this evening, but the air is so dry the snow will keep evaporating before hitting the ground until the air moistens up late tonight.
More periods of light snow seem likely Monday, with perhaps an inch or two.
The main show comes through Tuesday. This looks like a mid-sized storm, something we typically get in February. The storm will zip right along, so the time period during which we'll get moderate to heavy snow will be kind of short. That'll prevent it from being a blockbuster.
Another, possibly bigger storm seems likely later Thursday and Friday, but we still don't know what kind of precipitation we'll get. Could be anything, except locusts. No locusts.
