Meteorological Spring: Here's What You Can Look Forward To (Video)

How it starts: The first day of meteorological winter
last year in St Albans, Vermont.....
Since today is the first day of meteorological spring, the period from March 1 to May 31 in which climatologists regard as spring, I'll show you what you're in for.

I'm re-upping here a video I shot last year.

I took a photo every day last year from March 1 into early June in my  yard in St. Albans, Vermont. I put all the photos together into a YouTube video.   It's at the bottom of this post for your viewing pleasure.

It's fun to watch how dramatically things change from this time of year to the start of summer. It's also fun to re-watch the video to pick out some details.  Like how fast some hostas bud and burst onto the scene. Or how leaves on the trees go through intense bursts of expanding during wet and/or wet spells.

How it ends. Meteorological spring last year ended in my
St. Albans yard looking like this. Video in this post
will guide you through how the season will look. Wonderful!
It's also interesting to see the snowy setbacks that we regularly see in Vermont during the spring.  It's disheartening, but things tend to recover. Most of the time.

Today, the first day of meteorological spring in Vermont, was gray, raw and gusty, with bursts of snow to remind us that Ma Nature still thinks it's winter.

But hope, um, springs eternal, and things will rapidly change as we go through the next three months. It's a really positive change, one most of us have been really looking forward to.

We survived another winter, and let the gardens bloom!
